The Director, Office of the CEO & Strategic Initiatives plays a pivotal role in advancing Manulife Canada’s long-term strategy and vision, with a direct focus on driving strategic initiatives for a dedicated business unit under the guidance of the Vice-President, Canada Strategy & Transformation. This influential position is tasked with aligning strategic goals with Canada's objectives and client needs, providing critical data and insights to stakeholders, and delivering forward-looking advisory services to senior management. The role also encompasses supporting governance and business management services for the Canada Segment CEO, ensuring seamless execution of strategic topics at Canadian Division Leadership Team (CDLT) meetings, and facilitating effective decision-making processes.

Strategic Initiatives (50%):

  • Champion strategic business unit goals through thorough analysis and alignment with Canada Segment strategy.

  • Collaborate with internal partners to provide senior management with informed recommendations on strategic planning.

  • Develop executive presentation materials and performance reports, evaluating options for business growth and facilitating decisive executive actions.

  • Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of large-scale transformation strategic plans, with an aptitude for strategic, critical, and analytical thinking.

Office of the CEO (50%):

  • Support the Canada Segment CEO in governance and business management services.

  • Coordinate CDLT meetings, manage agendas, and track action items while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Facilitate communications and engagement activities for executive stakeholders, including crafting strategic documents and organizing leadership offsites.

  • Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps and create solutions where blueprints may not exist.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 years of progressively senior experience.

  • Advanced degree in business or equivalent; management consulting experience is an asset.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and work collaboratively.

  • Receptive and adaptive to an evolving, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Demonstrated strategic, critical, and analytical thinking abilities.

  • Experience in large-scale transformation strategic planning and execution.

  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and effectively engage diverse audiences.

Salary range is expected to be between

$105,750.00 CAD - $190,350.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
