About the role

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for optimizing IT operations and driving strategic initiatives? We are seeking a dedicated Director, IT End User Computing - Support and Operations, to become an integral part of our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a diverse team of managers and approximately 100 professionals, ensuring the seamless management of project portfolios, technology deployment, asset management, and end user support. Your expertise will be essential in mitigating vulnerabilities, managing security operations, and leveraging technology, automation, and AI to enhance our operational processes. 

You will play a crucial role in managing the evolution of our IT Bars and specialized services, transforming our operations, overseeing operating budgets, and collaborating with various IT departments to implement organizational strategies. Your ability to build strong relationships with peers and stakeholders, anticipate and resolve issues, and communicate effectively at all levels will be key to your success.  

 

What you'll do here: 

  • Oversee deployment, asset management, and end user support. 

  • Manage security operations and mitigate vulnerabilities. 

  • Optimize processes using technology, automation, and AI. 

  • Direct the evolution of our in person and specialized services. 

  • Ensure governance of operating budgets. 

  • Collaborate with IT departments to implement organizational strategies. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with peers for vision compliance. 

  • Participate in ongoing IT and acquisition projects. 

  • Advise stakeholders on strategy, governance, and demand management. 

  • Anticipate and resolve issues proactively. 

  • Ensure effective communication within the IT organization. 

  • Manage relationships with peers, top management, and project leads. 

  • Prioritize and allocate resources to key projects and requests. 

  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams. 

  • Foster a collaborative environment, leveraging industry best practices. 

  • Ensure team expertise through appropriate training. 

 

What you bring to the table: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent education and experience. 

  • 10+ years of experience managing large teams. 

  • Expertise in managing end user technologies and complex IT environments. 

  • Proven track record in handling multiple projects and large budgets (around $40M). 

  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals. 

  • Skilled in fostering change and transformation. 

  • Excellent at managing priorities and resource capacity. 

  • Strong coaching and managerial skills. 

  • High integrity and ability to handle confidential matters with maturity. 

  • Effective negotiation skills. 

  • Customer-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to communicate technical concepts to informed audiences. 

  • Bilingual (French and English) Need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country. 

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
