This is a high-impact, strategic role for a dynamic marketing leader who wants to shape the future of digital investing at BMO. As Director of Marketing Acquisition for InvestorLine, you’ll have the opportunity to build, and lead innovative, insight-driven campaigns that directly influence business growth and client engagement. You’ll be at the helm of a high-performing team, working closely with cross-functional partners to deliver bold, creative solutions that resonate with clients and drive measurable results. With a mandate to think differently, this role offers the autonomy, visibility, and influence to make a meaningful mark at one of Canada’s leading wealth organizations, across InvestorLine Self-Directed, adviceDirect, and SmartFolio offerings.

Acquisition Campaign Planning & Execution

  • Lead the development and delivery of acquisition campaigns for BMO InvestorLine, ensuring alignment with business goals, customer insights, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee the campaign calendar, performance tracking, and continuous optimization across channels.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide strategic direction and coaching to a high-performing team, fostering growth, accountability, and innovation.
  • Champion a collaborative, inclusive, and results-oriented culture.

Budget & Performance Management

  • Own the marketing acquisition budget for InvestorLine, ensuring effective allocation and tracking to drive ROI.
  • Measure and manage performance across paid and owned channels, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and impact.
  • Own the ideation, business case, and submission for marketing technology projects.

Creative Strategy & Thought Leadership

  • Provide creative input and direction across initiatives, pushing boundaries to drive breakthrough ideas that resonate with key audiences.
  • Champion test-and-learn approaches to fuel innovation and future-proof strategies.
  • Be the voice of our clients, by developing a deep understanding of our key personas and tailoring our programming to their needs (offers, creative, activations and more).

One Client Mandate Ownership

  • Lead marketing efforts for One Client, a strategic initiative aimed at franchising and driving engagement of BMO clients across verticals.
  • Ensure strategic alignment with broader Wealth and Retail Banking priorities.

Content Strategy & Lifecycle Integration

  • Develop and own the content strategy for acquisition, ensuring consistency of message, tone, and purpose across channels.
  • Serve as the marketing lead connecting lifecycle, content, and digital strategy to create seamless and effective customer journeys.

Stakeholder Influence & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships across internal and external partners including product, analytics, digital teams, agencies, compliance, and executive stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate strategic vision, execution plans, and performance results to influence decision-making and drive outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in acquisition, product, or performance marketing, ideally in Online Brokerage, Credit Cards, Insurance, or a regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong track record of campaign planning, creative development, and performance optimization.
  • Experience managing marketing budgets and using data-driven insights to inform decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to overcome barriers and seize opportunities.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes.
  • Understanding of digital investing platforms, customer journeys, and marketing technologies considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related field; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
  • Depth of understanding in the online brokerage space is considered an asset.

Salary:

$103,500.00 - $192,500.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
