Director of Global Business Development

Location: Toronto, Canada

Employment Type: Full-Time

The Role 

As the Director of Global Business Development, you'll lead the development and execution of strategies to expand the company's global presence, drive revenue growth by building sales pipeline, ensuring alignment with company goals leading a global team.  

You will be responsible for the day-to-management and coaching of a growing, global team of Business Development Representatives with resources strategically located on multiple continents. This is a critical role at Litmus and will present the opportunity to work with the executive team on a regular basis.  

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Client Engagement: Develop and maintain tactics and messaging to take to our market through your team of BDRs 
  • Sales Strategy: Develop, execute, and oversee a business strategy that prioritizes growth and a positive customer experience.  
  • Team Management: Define roles, hire top talent and expand the Team’s global reach. Coach employees to achieve personal and company goals and maintain a strong company culture within your team. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with marketing and sales teams to refine outreach strategies and messaging. 
  • CRM Utilization: Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, lead progress, and sales pipeline updates. 
  • Training: Mentor and train BDR professionals to improve their skills and sales effectiveness. 
  • Industry Awareness: Stay informed about manufacturing trends like smart factories, IoT, and data-driven operations to position Litmus.io as a trusted partner. 
  • Client Relations: Insure you and your team deliver a world-class experience to all of our current and potential customers 


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 

  • Experience: 7+ years in business development and 5+ years in management, or customer-facing roles. Manufacturing or industrial technology experience is a strong plus. 
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to connect manufacturing challenges with Litmus.io’s solutions effectively. 
  • Technical Acumen: Proficient in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and sales tools (e.g., Outreach, ZoomInfo). 
  • Resilience & Motivation: Driven to meet and exceed growth targets in a competitive landscape. 
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing operations, Industry 4.0 concepts, and data-driven decision-making. 
  • Exceptional project management skills with a track record of meeting targets. 
  • Local Toronto candidate- in the office 2 to 3 times a week. We’re located downtown 

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience in B2B sales, SaaS, or technology-driven industries. 
  • Knowledge of consultative selling techniques such as Challenger Sales or MEDDIC methodology. 
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. 
  • Knowledge of edge computing, IoT, or industrial automation solutions.
