Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW

This position will work directly with the Vice President of Corporate Communications, North American  Leadership Team, and communications leaders around the company to develop and deploy Brink’s global and North American business strategy through communications processes, campaigns and plans to: support Brink’s North American business priorities and growth strategies; influence key leaders in support of Brink’s brand strategies; empower leaders with communications support that accelerates employee engagement; and enhance the company’s reputation as an employer of choice.

Scope of activities includes executive leader communications support, communications strategy and campaign development and deployment, communications consulting and planning, key message and communications materials development, public relations and issues management, coordination of resources, communications processes and standards development and results measurement.

The ideal candidate must exercise considerable discretion with regard to information communicated and is expected to handle serious and sensitive subjects with tact, excellent judgment and confidentiality. He/she will encounter a variety of complex problems in the role, and therefore must be able to manage expectations of key stakeholders with conflicting inputs and differing needs to deliver effective and impactful communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

  • Lead the development of communications strategies and communications implementations to support key Brink’s North American business priorities through leadership and employee communications, via multiple channels including external media
  • Coordinate strategy deployment through Brink’s North American regions to ensure delivery of key business goals, strategies and communications
  • Develop executive communications, capturing the voice of Brink’s leaders in a motivational and inspiring way
  • Partner with Marketing and HR on product marketing and employer brand integration programs
  • Direct and manage crisis communications events that span North American regions and could potentially impact Brink’s brand reputation
  • Be a media spokesperson who can develop PR programs to enhance Brink’s brand reputation
  • Develop communications processes, tools and standards
  • Influence key regional leaders in the adoption of key Brink’s communications strategies and programs to drive business results
  • Lead the development and implementation of key messages, ensuring consistent themes across the business
  • Develop talking points, FAQs, presentations, positioning statements, videos, web content, new media outreach, and other materials that reinforce Brink’s brand, cultural image and transformational agenda
  • Be an ambassador for change, championing both process and cultural change
  • Work in a collaborative and matrixed environment, leveraging the talents of other global communicators

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree, Master’s degree a plus (not required)
  • 10 – 15+ years oral & written internal communications experience
  • 3+ years communicating in a global organization
  • 2+ years external communications experience
  • Ability to understand and work within corporate culture, working both independently as a leader and as a contributing member of the Corporate Communications and North American Leadership teams
  • Strong leadership skills demonstrated through the ability to influence globally in a matrixed organization, develop and drive transformation agendas, and cascading them in global, regional and country organizations
  • Public Relations and Crisis Management skills
  • Exceptional writing, editing and communication skills
  • Strong creative expression demonstrated through visual presentation and design of communications
  • Use of social media in business environments
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Cultural flexibility and understanding
  • Strong planning and organization skills
