Overview

Tonal is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Business Systems to lead the design, development, and evolution of our enterprise business systems landscape. This leader will own business applications, enterprise architecture, systems integrations, and custom application development that power complex revenue, finance and operations workflows across the company.

This role combines strategic architecture leadership, people management, and operational excellence. You will build and develop high-performing teams, own business technology roadmaps, manage critical system ownership, and ensure scalable, secure, and resilient technology solutions that enable business growth.

What You Will Do

  • Define and evolve enterprise architecture across NetSuite (ERP), Salesforce (CRM), MuleSoft (middleware), and custom applications.

  • Lead Business Applications, including enterprise systems roadmap planning, cross-functional project intake, requirements definition and project delivery.

  • Lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure integrations and custom solutions supporting complex revenue, finance, operational and logistics workflows.

  • Establish integration standards, development best practices (API design, CI/CD, testing, monitoring), and architectural governance.

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of business analysts, business system managers, integration engineers, and system administrators.

  • Scale integration, enterprise systems and business applications capabilities aligned to company growth.

  • Manage offshore contractor resources and third-party vendors to ensure quality, capacity, and cost efficiency.

  • Oversee critical enterprise system administration, including access governance, environment management, and production stability.

  • Partner with business leaders to translate strategic priorities into scalable technology roadmaps and implementation plans.

  • Ensure production reliability through monitoring, incident management, and structured root cause resolution.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in enterprise systems, architecture, and integration leadership roles.

  • 5+ years managing high-performing technical and business systems teams.

  • Deep experience with:

    • NetSuite (ERP architecture & integrations)

    • Salesforce (CRM architecture & integrations)

    • MuleSoft or comparable enterprise middleware platform

    • Custom application development environments

  • Experience leading business applications or enterprise systems teams, including project intake, requirements gathering, and roadmap management.

  • Strong understanding of API design, data architecture, event-driven systems, and integration best practices.

  • Experience supporting complex financial and operational workflows.

  • Proven success managing offshore engineering teams and third-party vendors.

  • Experience overseeing enterprise system administrators.

  • Strong executive communication and cross-functional leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to scale systems in high-growth environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in high-growth technology or consumer hardware environments.

  • Background in finance, supply chain, fulfillment, or logistics system design.

  • Experience building or scaling a Business Systems or Enterprise Applications function.
