Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Strategy development and execution: Plan and execute the growth strategy for VGS Services to ensure that revenue targets are achieved across the market. Align sales strategy with VCS Executives, Regional and Market Level VCS Stakeholders as well as cross functions like VCA and Client Services to agreed business and performance objectives.
  • New Business Development: Generate qualified pipeline activity for new and existing partnership opportunities and convert the pipeline activity to closed deals. Successfully position VGS Services value proposition to issuers product, sales, operations and technology teams in the form of presentations, solution demonstrations, RFP responses and consulting engagements. Support Visa Account Executive with new deal business development activity where VGS Services can add value to the card value proposition.
  • Account Management: Develop relationships and build knowledge with Visa Account Executives to ensure VGS services are understood and form a pillar within their overall account plans. Monitor and implement customer engagement strategies to ensure that revenue is realized to its full potential within existing customers that have enrolled in VGS services.
  • Thought Leadership: Display thought leadership in technology driven commercial payments solutions and represent VGS at regional industry events. Continually educate and grow knowledge of the VGS Services value proposition within the market and cross functions across Canada.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.
Preferred Qualifications
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
• 15+ years of industry related experience in product sales, service, or project management.
• Significant experience selling to Banks and Corporates and selling to C-suite from within a complex enterprise sales environment.
• Strong business development and consultative sales experience, with the ability to educate a wide range of stakeholders on Visa’s capabilities, clearly business oriented and able to lead business development and produce business cases.
Ideally, with a broad network in the public sector and a robust understanding of how public sector sales and public agencies operate.
• Experience with and understanding of how decisions are made by the public sector and government agencies, specifically public procurement.
• Strong understanding and experience in commercial payments (cards, payables, expense management), acquiring and/or SaaS software preferred.
• Strong financial acumen and outcome oriented.
• Ability to work independently and assume ownership of the vertical Sales strategy.
• Ability to negotiate business agreements whilst enhancing existing and new relationships.
• Experience in effectively creating and confidently delivering presentations to senior stakeholders.
• Proven ability to implement strategic initiatives with efficiency, professionalism and with demonstrated trouble shooting / problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), and executive presence, able to interface with senior executives.
• Specialist public sector payments infrastructure expertise is a plus.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and experience using CRM tools.
• Proven ability to collaborate and build credibility with a very diverse set of stakeholders.
