What you’ll be doing

As the Director, AI Enablement, you’ll be responsible for defining and executing the product strategy for AI applications across various lines of business within the bank. You’ll focus on guiding these business units in their AI strategies, developing use cases, and enhancing AI platforms tailored to their specific needs. You will also lead the adoption and execution of CIBC’s Agentic AI Strategy—accelerating the safe, scalable use of autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents to drive measurable business outcomes. This role will contribute to CIBC’s transformation by leading the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI initiatives that align with the bank’s growth objectives and enhance client experience. You’ll work in close collaboration with technology teams, business units, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery and adoption of AI products and solutions, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the supported business units. This role reports to the Head of Enterprise AI Platforms and Solutions, where you’ll have direct product ownership responsibility for platform functions supporting your line of business.

How you’ll succeed

  • Define and execute the product strategy- Define and execute the product strategy for AI applications supporting the CIBC Mellon partnership, ensuring alignment with overall growth objectives and client experience enhancement.

  • Collaborate with the Head of Enterprise AI Platforms and Solutions- Ensure cohesive and integrated AI strategies across the organization and the CIBC Mellon partnership.

  • Develop and prioritize AI use cases- Tailor AI use cases to CIBC Mellon’s needs, ensuring they meet business objectives and drive measurable value.

  • Lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap- Ensure alignment with the strategic goals of the CIBC Mellon partnership.

  • Work closely with technology teams, CIBC Mellon partner teams, and stakeholders- Ensure the successful delivery and adoption of AI products and solutions.

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI applications- Make data-driven decisions to enhance platform functionality and effectiveness.

  • Ensure compliance- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies in the development and deployment of AI solutions.

  • Provide thought leadership and guidance- Provide thought leadership and guidance on AI trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to partner and internal stakeholders.

  • Manage the budget and resources- Manage the budget and resources allocated for AI projects supporting the CIBC Mellon partnership, ensuring efficient and effective use of funds.

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement- Encourage the exploration of new AI technologies and methodologies to drive business growth.

  • Agentic AI Strategy key responsibilities

  • Strategy, Architecture & Governance- Execute Agentic AI Strategy, agent taxonomy, orchestration, tool catalogs, and establish agent guardrails, access controls, audit logs, and safety protocols.

  • Platform Enablement & Operational Excellence- Build and evolve agent platform (LLMOps/MLOps, CI/CD, environment separation, policy management), set SLOs for reliability and accuracy, monitor quality, and manage incident response.

  • Use Case Intake & Integration- Assess agent suitability, risk, and ROI; lead pilots to production; ensure secure integration with systems, APIs, and data sources, enforcing privacy and security.

  • Human-in-the-Loop & Change Management- Define review and escalation patterns to support staff accountability; provide training, playbooks, and communications to scale adoption.

  • Metrics & Outcomes- Track KPIs—task completion, cycle time, accuracy, manual-hour savings, adoption, client satisfaction, and compliance.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate strong understanding of AI technologies and their application within the financial services industry.

  • Proven experience in product management. You have the ability to lead products from conception to launch. Agentic AI expertise (preferred)- Experience with agent frameworks, orchestration, human-in-the-loop design, governance and safety controls, and operationalizing LLM/agent solutions at scale in regulated environments.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills. You have the ability to influence and drive consensus among diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset. You are focused on delivering high-quality products that meet client needs.

  • Ability to navigate complex environments. You can manage multiple priorities effectively.
