AVC is seeking an experienced Director of Advertising to lead and oversee strategic advertising, marketing, and communications initiatives. This hybrid role requires both in-office and remote work and involves managing teams, budgets, and high-impact campaigns across multiple channels.

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: $57.69 per hour (40 hours/week)
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing complex multicultural marketing campaigns, developing strategic client relationships, and leading high-performing teams across diverse markets. This position requires a unique blend of strategic vision, cultural expertise, and proven leadership in multicultural marketing services.


Specialized Experience

  • Significant experience developing marketing strategies for Southeast Asian markets, including the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and/or Myanmar
  • Experience planning and executing large-scale community engagement events
  • Demonstrated success in adapting global marketing campaigns for multicultural audiences
  • Experience in business development and client portfolio growth


Qualifications

  • Language: English
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a related field

Work Environment

  • Advertising, marketing, and public relations agency
  • Hybrid work arrangement
  • Budgetary responsibility between $4M – $8M

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate advertising and communication strategies
  • Direct marketing strategies and advertising campaigns to promote products and services
  • Analyze market research and conduct economic or commercial surveys
  • Lead, hire, train, supervise, and motivate staff (5–10 employees)
  • Manage contracts, budgets, and expenditures
  • Act as organizational spokesperson and advise clients on advertising and sales strategies
  • Oversee media relations and communications departments
  • Support clients post-sale and assist with reports, brochures, newsletters, and presentations
  • Publicize events, workshops, and fundraising activities

Technical Skills

  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Project management and word processing software
  • Windows OS, email platforms, LinkedIn
