The Opportunity:

We’re looking to fill an opening for a Director, ACP Operations to join our Operations team.

Reporting to the VP, Operations, the Director, ACP Operations is responsible for management, leadership, and development of the Aviso Correspondent Partners (ACP) New Accounts and Transfers Operations teams. This includes applying business strategies and objectives to ensure that direct reports and functional teams are aligned to meet and exceed the goals and SLA’s for our back office. The Director, ACP Operations is also responsible for establishing and maintaining supportive relationships within Aviso and with our external partners and vendors.

What your day looks like:

  • Set positive leadership tone through gaining respect of staff, peers, and stakeholders
  • Coach Operations team members to increase performance while increasing/maintaining employee engagement through timely and appropriate training and development
  • Oversee Aviso’s New Account Open and Maintenance team and Aviso’s Transfers in/out department.
  • Understands, translates, communicates, and applies, business strategies and objectives, ensuring that direct reports and functional teams are aligned to overall strategy, objectives, and best practices
  • Direct vendor management of key strategic relationships
  • Work collaboratively with strategic business partners across Aviso on cross enterprise projects and initiatives
  • Uses critical thinking and problem solving to support Aviso’s strategic efforts while maintaining focus on day-to-day responsibilities
  • Define clear KPIs to measure team service levels and productivity, implement procedures to monitor, track and report against these KPIs
  • Demonstrate exceptional emotional maturity in decision-making situations, while keeping client delivery and operational control as priorities

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of demonstrated Dealer Operations Management experience at a financial institution supporting CIRO (formerly IIROC and MFDA)
  • 10+ years in a leadership and people management position with proven experience developing a strategic succession plan that fosters growth opportunities and provides career development through daily coaching and mentoring
  • Exceptional problem solving, partnering, decision making and critical thinking
  • Expertise in Settlements, Trading and/or Corporate actions and proven experience meeting SLAs an asset
  • Deep expertise in Transfers, and systems, including ATON, A$M, Fundserv, CDS and DTC
  • Deep expertise in account and account maintenance compliance, including IRS/CRS/QI reporting requirements.
  • Remaining current on legislation governing registered products, securities, and mutual funds
  • Proven ability to negotiate with external vendors (business partners) to ensure Aviso’s needs and interests are secured
  • Excellent decision-making, prioritizing, change management, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels at Aviso and with our external partners
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $135,000 - $160,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
