If you are someone who enjoys working in digital communications and who wants to join a fun and collaborative team and, above all, wants to make a difference and take care of those who take care of us… then this job is for you!

We’re looking for a Digital Specialist, Plan Marketing & Communications, to help inform, inspire and engage our members and employees across a variety of digital channels. In this role, you will work closely with others on the Plan Marketing & Communications team as well as the Enterprise Communications teams to coordinate timely and effective execution of communication campaigns that support HOOPP’s Strategic Plan, thus helping us deliver on our pension promise.

What you will do:

Support digital channels

  • Update and maintain content and articles on hoopp.com effectively and in a timely manner, with a critical eye for detail.

  • Develop, schedule and post content on HOOPP’s member-centric social media channels based on a predefined monthly schedule.

  • Monitor social channels daily, flagging and providing guidance on key conversations, negative comments or questions requiring responses.

  • Build and deploy ad hoc and automated mass email communication campaigns and provide recommendations for A/B testing and future improvements to campaigns based on campaign analytics.

  • Support in the development of creative subject lines, article titles and teasers to drive audience engagement.

  • Support the Plan Marketing and Communications team with developing audience-centric content to support communication initiatives, as needed.

  • Assist in writing and populating metadata (titles, descriptions, etc.) into HOOPP’s content management system to optimize content for search engines.

  • Work with Plan Marketing Analytics to develop performance reports for relevant digital channels (social media, email, hoopp.com) to assess the effectiveness of communications.

  • Maintain the log of member and employer testimonials and stories submitted through hoopp.com, communicate with participants, as needed, and suggest ways to use the stories across digital platforms.

  • Provide input into key digital-specific processes in the shared knowledge management system, maintain documentation and work with Enterprise Communications to improve processes, where needed.

  • Work with in-house graphic designers to help create social images aligned with the associated content – using applications such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop to either create images from scratch or use provided templates.

Plan Marketing & Communications team support

  • Support the broader Plan Marketing & Communications team to ensure communication projects are delivered on time and on budget.

  • Build positive working relationships with members of the Plan Marketing & Communications team as well as the Enterprise Communications team.

  • Diligently follow marketing and communication processes, templates and workflows, and make recommendations to improve efficiencies, where possible.

  • Proactively monitor industry trends to help enhance our internal and external communication channels.

What you bring:

  • University degree or college diploma in marketing, digital communications, public relations or equivalent training and/or education.

  • Three to five years of experience in a marketing/communications position.

  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to express ideas in a clear, well-organized manner.

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to build and maintain a positive work environment.

  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize workload, and consistently meet deadlines.

  • Familiarity with deploying content on communications channels such as websites and email newsletters.

  • Previous working knowledge of headless Content Management System (CMS) platforms such as WordPress, Sitefinity, SharePoint, etc.
