About this Role

We are hiring a Digital Architect. The selected candidate will partner with external facing teams at Lightmatter and internal engineering teams to deliver groundbreaking products to the market. In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of innovative digital architecture solutions to deliver high-volume products for our customers. You will engage with our cross-disciplinary engineering teams to model and analyze solutions.  This role requires a deep understanding of chip design, digital electronics, software interfaces, and silicon photonics. The role also requires creativity, analytical skills, and clear communication skills.

*We are currently hiring for multiple levels for this role. Your level and compensation will be determined by your experience, education, and location.

Responsibilities: 

  • Creative problem-solving and contributing to robust digital architecture solutions for high-volume products
  • Specifying interface to software for complex digital and AMS circuits for silicon photonic transceivers
  • Highly proficient in Verilog and digital verification
  • Validate the models by simulations, and analyzing data
  • Actively collaborate with electronics and photonics engineers to specify, design, and validate circuits that meet performance, power, and production requirements
  • Work closely with RTL and DV teams for block-level implementation and verification
  • Document, review, and present your contributions

Qualifications: 

  • Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar discipline with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in working with high speed SerDes in either Photonics or Electrical Links
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with Firmware, ECC / FEC
  • Experience collaborating with photonics and analog electronics teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in product development or projects with industry
  • Experience in optical communication and silicon photonics
  • Experience in control and initialization of photonic circuits
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing and able to learn quickly. Self-starter with a “no task is too big or small” attitude
