As a fast-growing SaaS company, we operate across three key verticals: business aviation, regional commercial aviation, and aircraft leasing & finance. With nearly 300 team members spread across five continents, we support over 1,000 enterprise customers, helping them streamline and manage all aspects of their day-to-day operations.

Job Summary

As a DevOps Engineer at Portside, you will design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines that support our growing suite of aviation SaaS products. You will work across AWS and Azure environments, supporting Kubernetes-based workloads, serverless systems, and modern CI/CD pipelines.

In addition to maintaining and scaling existing infrastructure, this role will contribute to the development of internal tooling that improves developer productivity, platform reliability, and operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with product engineering teams, participate in shared on-call responsibilities, and help ensure our platforms remain secure, cost-efficient, and highly available.

Our infrastructure spans hundreds of Linux and Windows systems, multiple Kubernetes clusters, and mission-critical production services. Automation, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps principles are core to how we operate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure using Terraform and Terragrunt
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps
  • Operate and maintain Kubernetes clusters, including deployments, configuration, and upgrades
  • Create, maintain, and improve Kubernetes manifests and GitOps workflows
  • Support multiple production and development environments
  • Assist development teams with production releases and incident resolution
  • Participate in the design and development, including programming, of internal tools to improve platform operations, automation, and developer experience
  • Manage infrastructure access and configuration across cloud platforms and internal tooling (AWS, Azure, GitHub, CI/CD, VPN, etc.)
  • Drive continuous security improvements, dependency updates, and infrastructure hardening
  • Perform periodic resource utilization and cost audits
  • Contribute to monitoring, logging, and alerting improvements
  • Participate in code reviews and infrastructure design discussions
  • Attend team meetings and collaborate across engineering teams
  • Participate in a shared on-call rotation of approximately 1–2 weeks per month (process evolving, not yet fully formalized)

Qualifications

  • Prior software development experience is a must
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure
  • Strong experience with Terraform (Terragrunt experience is a plus)
  • Experience operating or supporting Kubernetes environments
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps)
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps concepts
  • Strong motivation and willingness to learn and adapt
  • Practical, results-oriented engineering mindset
  • High attention to detail
  • Desire to build reliable, scalable, and efficient systems
  • Cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, or related certifications are a plus (or willingness to obtain them after joining)
What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary
  • Fully remote work
  • Generous time off policy
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
  • Dynamic, collaborative, and fast-growing work environment.
