About the position

 

As Devops Engineer, you will join the Software Engineering & DevSecOps chapter, you will partner with other internal experts, specializing in various aspects of software engineering. Together, the team collaborates on multiple products that contribute to Roche's internal business requirements. 

 

As Devops Engineer you will be accountable for optimizing and automating the deployment and management of platform and cloud-based services to support application development. You will also focus on ensuring cost-effectiveness, scalability, and security in all aspects of the digital product lifecycle, including development and maintenance activities. 

 

 

 

The Opportunity:

 

 

  • Designing, developing and maintaining cloud application built on AWS

  • Working with DEV teams and solution architects to build extensive, secure and scalable cloud infrastructure

  • Automating and streamlining deployment processes and environment management

  • Monitoring app performance, troubleshooting issues and proposing issue resolution

  • Regularly communicating with the DEV team members regarding system design, roadmap and task status

 

 

 

Who you are:

 

 

  • 5-7 Years of relevant work experience

  • At least 2+ years experience of working in one or more multinational work environments (e.g. healthcare industry experience is a plus)

  • In-depth practical knowledge of AWS services: S3, EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, Cloudwatch, networking (VPC, Route53), database systems (SQL and NoSQL), load balancers, WAF

  • Understanding of AWS permission management: IAM, policies and AWS scalability architecture

  • Experience with observability platforms e.g. Prometheus / Grafana / DataDog

  • Knowledge of container services: Docker, EKS / ECS / AWS Fargate

  • Proficiency in at least one of the IaC frameworks: Terraform, Cloudformation, CDK

  • Knowledge of Git and its branching models

  • Deployment and release automation and best practices

  • CI/CD frameworks: one of the following: Gitlab CI, Github Actions, Jenkins

  • Practical knowledge of Python and Bash scripting
