DevOps Engineer, CoCounsel for Government
 

Kickstart or advance your DevOps career by joining our CoCounsel for Government team. As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll work under the guidance of senior engineers and managers to build and maintain secure, scalable cloud environments. From container orchestration to infrastructure automation, you’ll gain hands-on experience ensuring compliance in a high-stakes, government-focused setting.
 

About the role
 

Cloud & Container Fundamentals

• Develop AWS-based infrastructure solutions (CloudFormation or similar), manage Docker containers, and get exposure to Kubernetes for orchestration.

• Write and maintain Python scripts or services to automate common deployment, monitoring, or data-processing tasks.
   

Secure & Compliant Deployments

• Learn how to incorporate FedRAMP and FIPS requirements into your DevOps workflows, collaborating with senior team members and InfoSec.

• Assist in setting up CI/CD pipelines, integrating security checks and code-quality gates.

Operational Support

• Participate in on-call rotations or incident response, diagnosing and resolving issues in development and production environments.

• Contribute to system monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions, ensuring reliable performance.
   

Continuous Learning

• Work closely with experienced DevOps professionals, gaining deeper insights into AWS, container tech, and compliance best practices.

• Collaborate in code reviews, scrums, and sprint planning to sharpen both technical and communication skills.
   

About You
 

Experience

• 2-3 years of professional experience or relevant internships/projects in DevOps, system administration, or software engineering.
   

• Basic familiarity with AWS services and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
   

Python Skills

• Comfortable with Python scripting for automation tasks; eager to learn best practices for production-grade Python.
   

• Appreciation for statically typed languages or type systems is a plus.
   

Team Mindset

• Enthusiastic about collaborating, learning, and adapting in a fast-paced environment.
   

• Open to feedback and driven to improve your DevOps knowledge and practices.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to IaC tools (CloudFormation, Terraform) and monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, ELK).
   

• Interest in or experience with government compliance frameworks.
   

• AWS GovCloud experience.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.

For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $70,000 - $130,000.

This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
