Teledyne Digital Imaging's products are used worldwide in machine vision, document scanning, image capture, surveillance, process monitoring, manufacturing inspection, medical imaging, and multi media. As part of our continuing growth in this high technology market, Teledyne Digital Imaging is recruiting for a Design Specialist – Test in Waterloo.

Position Summary

Teledyne is looking to hire a design specialist - test for the Space and ISR business line.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, performance, and maintenance of both the hardware and software involved in evaluating the performance of products or their component parts. This role involves collaboration with multiple process groups and the integration of a variety of tools in the Teledyne DALSA test environment.

Position Responsibilities

  • Design, setup, and maintain both hardware and software of test systems for evaluating the performance of image sensors, cameras, and wafers.

  • Design, debug, and maintain test software for characterization and validation of image sensors, cameras, and wafers

  • Modify test infrastructure when a bug or issue is identified.

  • Provide guidance for Test Specialists and Co-Op students for evaluating and testing components, sub systems or products by following established means.

  • Review results for trends in sensor and camera performance and test stability.

  • Create test plans for new product variants.

  • Deploy new or modified test files into manufacturing environment.

  • Recommend refinements to existing procedures, techniques and test methodologies.

  • Create customer facing documents including test result reports for project deliverables and other technical notes.

Position Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Nano Engineering, Physics, and a minimum of 2 years of related experience

  • Direct experience with LabVIEW, Matlab, or other scripting languages.

  • Knowledge of image sensors and image sensor evaluation.

  • Proficiency in the operation and hardware-software interfacing of laboratory equipment used in image sensor characterization including high speed oscilloscopes, optical power meters, light sources.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
