As the Product Design Manager at 7shifts, you’ll lead and coach your team to create exceptional experiences while shaping product and design vision. Reporting to the Senior Director of Design and Research, you’ll drive strategies that balance business and user needs. You thrive on developing people, expanding design beyond the screen, and fostering collaboration. Your leadership will empower designers, enhance user experiences, and influence company metrics. Advocating for restaurant workers, you’ll help shape operational practices that put people first. Your impact will be felt through coaching, strategic vision, and building a high-performing, engaged design team.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of 4 designers that thrive on customer-centered, collaborative practices  
  • Ensure designers are empowered and motivated to accomplish 7shifts’ mission to improve team performance for restaurants
  • Jump in to coach, facilitate, partner, and guide designers toward great outcomes
  • Contribute to the overarching product and design strategy by leading and developing strategic initiatives and visions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to drive efforts toward ease of use and exceptional product
  • Highlight cross-domain UX opportunities that drive positive outcomes for user and business goals
  • Nurture each designer’s growth through ongoing skill development and stretch opportunities
  • Work with design leadership to increase design maturity across the company by developing effective design operations, user research practices, and evolving design systems

What you bring:

  • You’ve recruited, managed, and nurtured high-performing design teams that care about understanding root problems before jumping to solutions
  • You’re obsessed with customers and have the desire to understand how the restaurant industry engages with its staff and technology
  • You have a deep understanding of the end-to-end product design process and have led other designers through it
  • You have experience crafting and executing long-term design and product visions, ensuring they evolve from strategy to reality
  • You have a growth mindset that loves to learn from every challenge
  • You care personally about your team members and are comfortable challenging them directly

It’d be even cooler if you had:

  • Previous experience in the restaurant-tech industry or working in a restaurant
  • Experience leading a growth design function
