Join our growing team at Vetcove, and help us transform how veterinarians buy the supplies they need to keep America's pets healthy. Vetcove's eCommerce and mobile platforms enable veterinary practices to compare and buy from all of their vendors in one place. Our community of more than 17,000 veterinary hospitals employs tens of thousands of veterinarians, and delivers care to many millions of animals every year across all 50 states. We’re a growing team on a mission to modernize the $50B+ animal health industry. Simply put, Vetcove helps veterinary organizations spend more time giving care, and less time shopping and comparing across vendors to supply their practices. Vetcove is a Y Combinator and venture-backed growth stage company with notable investors in Silicon Valley and NYC. We're looking for exceptionally talented and passionate people to join our growing team.

About the Position

As a Design Engineer at Vetcove, you’ll sit at the intersection of design and engineering. We believe the best user experiences, especially for our furry friends and the veterinarians that care for them, arise from engineers being intimately involved in the design process from the very first wireframe through pixel perfection. You’ll work closely with the design team to brainstorm and iterate on feature enhancements and new user experiences, ensuring a high quality implementation. You’ll be responsible for the highest level of polish across Vetcove’s desktop and mobile applications.

What we are looking for:

We believe there are a couple traits that will make you perfect for this role:

  • You have an extraordinary attention to detail. Every pixel matters to you.

  • You love React, and love building new React components. You have several years experience working with React and using the latest React features.

  • You are a CSS guru. You love the challenge of building complex interactions purely through CSS.

  • You truly love design and are passionate about exploring the latest design and interaction trends.

  • A passion for pets is always a big plus, but certainly not required!

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate closely with product designers in designing new features

  • Bring Figma designs to life by implementing modular, reusable React components

  • Implement interactions using highly flexible and performant CSS code

  • Experiment with animations and micro-interactions that are best prototyped through code

  • Work closely with the front end engineering team to bridge front end logic with design

You should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of experience in software development, including experience in building a professionally successful production application using React.

  • A set of front end components and or designs you’ve implemented that you can share!

Benefits (Full Time Roles)

  • 100% remote within the USA

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance

  • Automatic 401k contribution

  • Employee referral program

  • At home office set up

  • Bi-annual company retreats

  • Open vacation policy

  • Equity

  • Monthly team events

Salary Range: $100,000/year - $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
