York Space Systems is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to support the Program Manager in overseeing the production of space vehicles. Responsibilities include managing the program management office, program administration, governance, quality management, cybersecurity compliance, schedule management, and customer relationships. As a Deputy Program Manager for York, you will support the Program Manager in providing management and oversight to the production of space vehicles. Provide direct management over the program management office (PMO) that includes overall program administration, program and project governance, program quality management, cybersecurity compliance, program schedule management and RMF verification and validation. Interact and serve as a program liaison with all York Corporate business areas inclusive of Finance, Contract, Subcontracts, Human Resources, Business Development, Security, Contract Labor, Supply Chain, Production, Software and Engineering. Support the collection of data analytics and follow-on creation of program artifacts in support of Program Management Reviews. Oversee the program deliverable process ensuring on-time completion of all deliverable items to customers and internal needs. Serve as a direct interface and manage customer relationships that facilitate overall integration and collaboration with senior government employees and military members. Serves as the single point of contact for the program in the absence of the Program Manager, and directly interface with the Program Manager and the customer in communicating objectives, directions, and guidance to the team under the advisement of the Program Manager.
REQUIREMENTS

  • Lead the team and drives the completion of program initiatives in absence of, or at the direction of the Program Manager.
  • Identify and understand program objectives.
  • Identify projects needed to achieve program objectives.
  • Manage resources across all projects within the program.
  • Communicates effectively with project stakeholders and customers.
  • Coordinate interdependent projects that are part of the program.
  • Provides reports on program performance to the PM, customer and organization leaders.
  • Resolve problems and delays in projects across the program.
  • Help to ensure collaboration among project teams as it relates to project integration and completion.

ASSIST THE PROGRAM MANAGER WITH FOLLOWING TASKS

  • Tracking the progress of projects and coordinating efforts across the program.
  • Overseeing all activities associated with the program to ensure the program achieves its goals.
  • Managing budget/cost, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Managing program risk and coordinate corrective measures.
  • Monitoring program activities.
  • Identify and assigning program team members.
  • Identify and manage program adherence to standards and governance.
  • Ensure that the program is aligned with organizational business goals and objectives.

SKILLS

  • Possess demonstrated ability to internally oversee and monitor all program and project activities to ensure quality control and quality assurance for all delivered products and services.
  • Possess Demonstrated success managing complex cross-functional teams to achieve high levels of production, meet tight deadlines, and deliver compliant, quality work products.
  • Possess Strong written and verbal communication skills, emotional intelligence, critical thinking skills, and integrity and ethics.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc…)

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business administration, or computer science, engineering, or a related field of study
  • Certification in PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) – preferred

EXPERIENCE 

  • 3+ years of related experience in program management and leading multi-functional teams.
  • Experience in strategic planning, including contributing recommendations with supporting data and preparing and executing action plans.
  • Proven proficiency in analyzing, evaluating, and overcoming program risks across multiple project teams.
  • Experience managing Government/Military programs.

Security Clearance: Qualify for a TS/SCI
