About the Role
As a Data Scientist Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our Industry 4.0 and Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives specifically focused on optimizing our manufacturing processes for exterior trim parts. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to provide insights and solutions that enhance our manufacturing operations, including co-extrusion, assembly, and molding.
Your Responsibilities
- Work with the Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology teams to work on and accomplish goals set out by the facility.
- Develop and implement data-driven models and algorithms that leverage machine learning and AI techniques to improve operational efficiency, quality, and productivity in co-extrusion, assembly, and molding.
- Employ statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques to identify trends, patterns, and areas for process improvement.
- Clean, preprocess, and validate large datasets related to co-extrusion, assembly, and molding to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Conduct supervised experiments, A/B testing, and perform statistical analysis to measure the impact of proposed solutions on manufacturing operations.
- Communicate findings and results in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders, including management, engineers, and manufacturing teams. Collaborate with Data Scientists, Software Developers and Engineers to integrate data-driven solutions into production systems and optimize the manufacturing processes.
Who we are looking for
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, with a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques, deep learning frameworks, and statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is desirable.
- Working with data tools and protocols such as Kepware, MQTT and Mosquito
