Role

Triplelift, a fast-growing AdTech Supply Side Platform, tackling some of the most challenging problems in the world of digital advertising, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineering Manager within our Data org to lead and scale the Data Engineering team. This team powers the core data infrastructure that drives our AdTech Exchange. You will oversee the end-to-end management of our data pipelines and platforms, ensuring the seamless ingestion, storage, and retrieval of event data from multiple sources. This is a critical role in a fast-paced, growing environment, where you will mentor and manage an existing team of talented data engineers, expand the team as needed, and collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Data Science and Commercial teams. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, driving the team towards excellence in data engineering and maintaining a high standard of delivery within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of geo-distributed data engineers, foster a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture, while identifying hiring needs and recruiting top talent to scale the team.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, low-latency data pipelines and platforms that process 100’s of billions of daily events, ensure efficient ingestion, processing, and storage of high-volume, high-throughput event data
  • Manage data platforms, including data lakes (S3), warehouses (Snowflake), and real-time analytics tools, to meet business needs
  • Set the technical direction and ensure best practices for data engineering, while working with Product Management peers and cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements and prioritize engineering projects
  • Drive agile project management practices, ensure timely delivery of data engineering projects, and communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize costs, monitor data quality, and implement security and compliance standards, and collaborate with architects and engineers to enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of data infrastructure, including data collection, storage, and retrieval systems
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging trends, tools, and technologies, and foster a culture of quality, innovation and continuous improvement, both within the Data Engineering team and the Data org as a whole

 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, demonstrated ability to grow and scale teams effectively, and strong experience in mentoring and managing engineering teams in a fast-paced, geographically distributed, environment
  • Proven expertise in building and managing data engineering platforms for large-scale, high-throughput applications
  • Deep expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and related services for data processing (Spark/Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow, Druid).
  • Hands-on experience with modern data engineering tools and frameworks (e.g., data pipelines, orchestration engines, distributed storage systems).
  • Excellent project management skills, including expertise with tools like JIRA and Agile methodologies.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, and strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams.
  • Knowledge of AdTech or real-time event streaming systems is a plus.
