PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
We’re seeking a versatile professional who can bridge the gap between software development and data engineering. The successful candidate will work closely with our IT Client Reporting team to support the development and maintenance of existing applications, while driving efforts toward modernization, cloud adoption, and the application of data engineering principles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support, maintain, and optimize custom applications for tax reporting built on legacy platforms.

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable application features and efficient data workflows.

  • Collaborate with analysts, business users, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

  • Design and build solutions aligned with modernization goals and modern data engineering principles where applicable.

  • Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for data processes, system architecture, and procedures.

  • Ensure data integrity, application performance, and overall system efficiency.

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing and best practices.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in developing and maintaining complex programs in a professional setting

  • Proficient in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis

  • Skilled in shell scripting (KSH, SQR) within Unix/Linux environments

  • Familiar with job scheduler solutions such us Cron, AutoSys, or Rundeck

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services and modern data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake

  • Familiarity with data transformation and orchestration tools, including DBT and Apache Airflow

  • Experience in the Financial Services industry and tax reporting is an asset; cybersecurity knowledge is a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; adaptable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

  • Clear and effective communicator, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Skills

  • Strong knowledge in agile methodologies, DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC).

  • Experienced in the use of Atlassian collaboration tools.

  • Experienced in shell-scripting language like KSH and SQR.

  • Experience in Restful API is a plus

  • Experience in cyber-security measures is a plus

  • Good interpersonal and team skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational, analytical skills.

This opportunity is for an existing vacancy with the company. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $69,500 to $119,500. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a bonus program. In addition, The Company offers a variety of benefits to eligible employees, including health insurance coverage, wellness programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave programs, education-related programs, paid holidays and vacation time, and many others.
