The Data Analytics Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. The ideal candidate will have an eye for building and optimizing data systems and work closely with our Systems Architects, Data Scientists, Analysts and business Users to help direct the flow of data within the pipeline and ensure consistency of data deliveryand utilization across multiple projects. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
Responsibilities:

  • Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flows
  • Adhere to Citi's architecture principles, best practices and standards, and ensuring ongoing alignment with Market technology and application portfolio strategies and roadmaps.
  • Provide technical oversight across the application and support the implementation of next generation Data fabric.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts and Development teams for solutioning & delivering the new requirements
  • Maintain continuous awareness of business, technical, and infrastructure issues and act as a sounding board or consultant to aid in the development of creative solutions.
  • Own and be accountable for all development activities in the bigdata eco system.
  • Lead a team of highly talented Data Warehousing and Big Data developers with Tech Stack including Database, ETL tool, Spark, Big Data Eco System.
  • Coordinates and contribute to the objectives of data science initiatives and overall business through leveraging in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function.
  • Assumes informal/formal leadership role through coaching and training of new recruits.
  • Significantly influences decisions, work, and performance of all teams through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in the business.
  • Conducts strategic data analysis, identifies insights and implications and make strategic recommendations, develops data displays that clearly communicate complex analysis.
  • Mines and analyzes data from various banking platforms to drive optimization and improve data quality.
  • Delivers analytics initiatives to address business problems with the ability to identify data required, assess time & effort required and establish a project plan.
  • Leads system change process from requirements through implementation; provides user and operational support of application to business users
  • Formulate and define systems scope and objectives for complex projects through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry standards.
  • Impacts the business directly by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; impacts own team and closely related work teams.
  • Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment; identifies and communicates risks and impacts.
  • Drives communication between business leaders and IT; exhibits sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years experience using tools for SQL for Analytical queries and good understanding of ETL/ELT data pipelines and processes
  • Proficient in SQL and SQL extensions for Analytical queries
  • The specific skill sets required are Oracle 19c, PL/SQL, Impala, Hive ,Spark/Pyspark & Tableau
  • Additional experience in Java and/or and Python is an added advantage.
  • Strong Data Warehouse professional with good hands on in various Database, ETL technologies along with strong hands-on experience in Big Data Eco System.
  • Ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive and problem solving techniques
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills


Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience
