Job Summary
This is a hybrid role, with 1–2 days per week expected in person at 200 Bay Street in Toronto.
Responsibilities:
- Working with Project Manager/Stakeholders to help define requirements and advise on solutions that best meet business needs and system design.
- Working with Software Architect to ensure adherence to best practices, security, and system architecture.
- Collaborating with IT team to integrate Power BI solutions with underlying data sources and enterprise systems.
- Working directly with business stakeholders to independently gather, clarify, and document reporting and analytics requirements, including KPIs, metrics, and success criteria.
- Proactively identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities in existing data and reporting, and recommending appropriate Power BI, data modeling, or process improvements.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI semantic models, datasets, dashboards, and reports using best practices for performance, scalability, and usability.
- Translating business requirements into effective data visualizations, KPIs, and analytical outputs that are easily understood by non‑technical audiences.
- Participating in Agile ceremonies, stakeholder reviews, and solution walkthroughs or demos as required.
- Providing accurate estimates to help anchor iteration cycle.
- Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through data validation, profiling, and quality checks.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation including data definitions, report logic, and solution designs.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or Power BI development.
- Proficiency with Power BI, including Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, data modeling.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and strong SQL skills (e.g., SQL Server or similar).
- Proficiency with Azure, data warehousing concepts, or Power Platform (Power Apps / Power Automate).
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in accordance with established parameters.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in IT, computer systems or technology
Salary Range - $85,000 to $95,000 annually
