Data Analyst

Location – Mississauga, ON

The Procurement Data Analyst will be responsible for data collection, modelling, visualization, analysing, and interpreting procurement data to support business decisions. This role involves working closely with procurement teams to ensure data accuracy, enhance reporting capabilities, and provide insights that drive operational efficiency.

Your role within the team:

  • Gather, clean, and analyse procurement data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop and maintain procurement dashboards and reports using Power BI, Excel, or other analytics tools.
  • Automate data collection and reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual work using power automate, Python etc.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and insights in procurement data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor key procurement metrics such as cost savings, supplier performance, and purchase order trends.
  • Collaborate with procurement and other teams to enhance data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements through data monitoring.
  • Maintain documentation of data processes, reports, and automation workflows.
  • Provide ad-hoc data analysis and reporting as required.

The ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer Science or a related field; a postgraduate diploma or master’s degree in Data Analytics or Business Intelligence is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis or procurement analytics or a similar role.
  • Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, sums, drop-downs, PivotTables, Macros, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, Power BI and other BI Visualization tools.
  • Experience with data automation tools like Power Automate, Python, or R for data automation and workflow optimization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of ERP systems and the ability to understand how data flows within the system.
  • Understanding of procurement processes, sourcing, and supplier management is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, while maintaining project timelines and deadlines.
  • Must be a professional team player, with the ability to work in a collaborative environment with colleagues.
