The Data Analyst - Product will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting product data to support key business decisions. You will work closely with product teams to track product performance, monitor user behavior, and assist in generating actionable insights that drive product improvements. This role involves supporting data collection, performing exploratory analysis, and contributing to data-driven solutions that optimize product features and enhance user experience. In line with Hootsuite's distributed workforce strategy, our flexible work arrangement allows for remote work or a hybrid model. This role is open to applicants located in Toronto, Vancouver or remote throughout Canada where we comply with our legal hiring entities. In this role, you will report to the Manager, Analytics - Product. 

 WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Data Collection & Cleaning: Collect and organize product-related data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and readiness for analysis.
  • Product Performance Reporting: Generate and maintain reports and dashboards that track product KPIs, such as user engagement, retention, feature adoption, and conversion rates.
  • Exploratory Data Analysis: Analyze product data to uncover insights into user behavior, product usage, and opportunities for product optimization.
  • Collaborate with Product Teams: Work closely with product managers and other cross-functional teams to understand product analytics needs and deliver insights that support product development and strategy.
  • Support Product Decisions: Provide actionable insights based on product data analysis, enabling product teams to make informed decisions that drive product improvements.
  • Data Visualization: Use tools like Tableau or Power BI to visualize product data and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Data Integrity & Consistency: Ensure the quality and integrity of product data by performing regular audits and maintaining consistent data management practices.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Intermediate level experience in data analytics, with a focus on product analytics or similar roles or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present product data insights effectively.
  • Familiarity with product analytics tools like Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Heap to track user interactions and product feature usage.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel for basic data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with product teams to understand data needs and deliver relevant insights.
  • Ability to identify trends and patterns in product data and provide actionable insights to drive product improvements.
  • Attention to detail and strong focus on maintaining data integrity and consistency.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
