We are looking for a talented and versatile Data Analyst to join our team and help us bring our vision to life. In this role, you will work in our Markham, Canada office as an integral member of our Technical Delivery team to ensure we increase our company’s success with our growing base of clients.
This role is based in our Markham, Ontario offices conveniently located near Highway 404 & 407. We are focused on team participation and commit to working a Full-Time schedule in our Markham office.

Who We Need:
We are looking for a hands-on Data Analyst with strong Power BI expertise to help us turn raw data into clear, actionable insights for the business. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards, with a particular focus on Power BI embed capacity to support scalable, secure analytics experiences within our internal and customer-facing applications.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and other analysts to understand requirements, model data effectively, and deliver reporting solutions that are accurate, performant, and easy to use. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical side of BI development and the analytical side of interpreting results and telling the story behind the numbers.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets, ensuring they are visually clear, performant, and aligned with business needs.
- Configure and optimize Power BI embedded capacity, including workspace organization, capacity planning, performance tuning, and governance best practices.
- Work with stakeholders to understand their business (goals, objectives, processes) and operational systems, gather and refine business requirements, translating them into robust data models and reporting solutions.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries and scripts to extract, transform, and validate data from various source systems.
- Build and maintain relational data models (star/snowflake schemas, fact/dimension tables) to support scalable reporting and analytics.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities, providing clear insights and recommendations to the business.
- Ensure data quality and consistency through validation checks, reconciliation, and collaboration with data engineering/IT teams.
- Document data sources, metrics definitions, report logic, and processes to support transparency and maintainability.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Finance, Operations, Technology) to drive data-informed decision-making.
- Stay current on Power BI features and best practices and share knowledge with the wider team.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline; or equivalent combination of education, technical training, and work experience.
- Minimum three years of professional experience as a Data Analyst specializing in Advanced Power BI skills, including: Building complex dashboards, paginated reports (nice to have), and reusable datasets.
- Strong DAX knowledge for measures, calculated columns, and time-intelligence calculations.
- Experience with Power BI embed capacity (e.g., capacity planning, dedicated vs shared capacity, app workspaces, row-level security in embedded scenarios).
- Intermediate SQL proficiency, with the ability to: Write clean, optimized queries involving joins, subqueries, CTEs, aggregations, and window functions.
- Troubleshoot and improve inefficient queries.
- Solid understanding of relational database concepts and relational data modeling, including: Normalization/denormalization, Designing fact and dimension tables to support reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, including: Translating business questions into analytical approaches, Interpreting data and presenting clear, concise insights and recommendations, Using data to validate hypotheses and measure the impact of initiatives.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Effective communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders as well as being able to understand business concepts and translate them into robust technology solutions.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience building dashboards and visualizations in Qlik Sense.
- Experience with Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
- Exposure to other Azure data services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Synapse, Data Factory) or similar cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) for managing BI assets.
- Experience working in an Agile or iterative delivery environment.
- Experience working with Databricks
- Experience working with Salesforce Administration
Location & Work Schedule
