The Data Acquisition Manager, Trade Data will develop and manage critical vendor relationships and related processes, including market research, data sourcing, relationship qualification, and testing new data vendors.


The Data Acquisition Manager, Trade Data role will have many responsibilities include working across departments to understand use cases and data needs, managing test contracts and data testing, drafting new contracts, ensuring compliance, and overseeing larger data strategies.


The Data Acquisition Manager, Trade Data will gather data requirements from key constituents, identify and qualify data vendor prospects, create and manage data vendor relationships, consolidate internal alignment for critical contract decisions, and act as the point of contact between D&B and data vendors. Additionally, they will become data subject matter expert across a variety of datasets as well as a strategic data domain owner, identifying emerging trends, comparing findings to industry standards, and ensuring data effectively supports business drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct extensive market research to identify relevant data sources across different data set types, such as: B2B, Consumer Data, Identity, and Technographics.
  • Act as the primary liaison for critical vendors, ensuring compliance with data standards, identifying new business opportunities, and managing test contracts, deliverables, negotiations, SLAs, and renewals to secure the best terms and value.
  • Execute test contracts, retrieve and distribute testing deliverables, negotiate new contracts, create custom SLAs, and manage renewals to secure the best terms and value.
  • Manage multiple client initiatives at different phases of testing, contracting, and renewing to ensure a successful launch and relationship moving forward.
  • Provide strategic advice and develop policies, standards, and metrics for the organization’s data domain sourcing strategy.
  • Responsible for identifying cost savings & data growth targets through expanding existing vendor relationships and rationalizing datasets vs. changing internal needs.
  • Conduct extensive market research to identify relevant data sources and stay updated with emerging data trends, regulations, and reporting frameworks.
  • Effectively communicate with key internal stakeholders and manage proposals, timelines, and deliverables from proposal through implementation.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Skills and/or Certifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in project management, account management, business development, or vendor management preferably in the B2B data space.    
  • Excellent communication skills both spoken and written to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong Excel skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with B2B Data industry.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Advanced Degree - Preferred
