Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular physical verification to determine the actual quantity and account for variances.
  • Utilize EPICOR ERP to process all cycle counts, review on-hand inventory, current activity, and past activity.
  • Ensure materials are in proper locations. Conducts searches in order to locate missing inventory
  • Weigh materials to determine quantity on hand. Weigh and mark product for proper identification where needed
  • Report discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products to Materials Manager - publish daily, weekly and quarterly inventory metrics
  • Communicate and develop process enhancements as needed (performs root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and recommends process improvements to eliminate them)
  • Follow and implement the approved cycle counting schedule, so that discrepancies are identified and reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Full compliance with all administrative requirements within MDV.
  • Ensures work area is kept clean, tidy and safe at all times.
  • Reports all incidents or accidents that may cause damage or injury.
  • Observes all Federal/Provincial Regulations including standards for safe working conditions as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act as well as Policies and Procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement / Suggestion Programs.
  • Attends all scheduled training/meetings bringing forward any questions at that time or to his/her Supervisor/Designee.
  • Identify opportunities and participate in continuous improvement of materials processes.
  • Continuously strive to improve through self-development.
  • Perform other assignments as requested by management from time to time as well as making Supervisor/Designee aware of problems/slowdown in work area so can be assigned further duties.
  • Provides backup to other Materials Control Staff as required
  • Other Tasks:
  • Continuously adhere to and apply the Magna Employee's Charter, the Magna Corporate Constitution, and the Magna Operational Principles in all aspects of position and interaction with others.
  • Effective use of MDV's Escalation Process.
  • Compliance to IATF customer requirements
  • Attends all scheduled meetings and training.
  • Understands and follows established rules, procedures and policies relating to position.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and by following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties that may be assigned

Education and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; one year of factory related experience in Material Handling and/or Shipping and Receiving (Preferred)
  • Counter Balance Forklift and/or Reach Truck License required
  • 1-2 years of experience working as a cycle counter for a similar organization (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and inventory control practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Good command of the English language both verbal, written and the ability to communicate to the customer.
