Essential Job Functions:
- Developing software products and solutions, offering guidance, code reviews, and technical support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
- Support the professional growth of less experienced team members.
- Contribute to the execution of software engineering strategies, participating in strategic discussions and technology assessments.
- Manage project tasks, prioritize work, and plan to meet project goals.
- Monitor project timelines to ensure efficient execution.
- Identify and mitigate project risks proactively, resolving issues as they arise.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience with CyberLife or a similar life insurance product.
- Proficiency in mainframe technologies, including COBOL, VSAM, JCL, REXX, and CICS.
- Deep understanding of the Life Insurance domain.
- Experience in both developing new functions and working as an analyst.
- Proven experience working within Agile teams.
- Experience with an onshore-offshore development model.
- Ability to write test scenarios for developed functionality.
- Strong analytical and coding skills for designing system changes.
- Preferably knowledgeable in CyberLife online and batch processing architecture.
- Capable of producing technical documentation, including module-level specifications, work product reviews, process improvements, and unit test scenarios.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Typically 6+ years of relevant industry experience, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages and development methodologies.
- Strong programming and debugging skills.
- Prior experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies and best practices.
- Strong communication, teamwork, organizational, and time management skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a leadership role.
Other Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in a related field is a plus.
- Relevant certifications or training are a plus.
