Job Overview

The Credit Risk Analyst is responsible for assisting the team in managing credit risk exposure to the business derived through changes in market valuation of hedging contracts and the settlement of funds through Payments Canada.

The role consists of the running of portfolio reports, evaluating credit submissions for completeness, analysing financial statements, and building business cases for and adjudication. In addition, the Credit Risk Analyst is to prepare documentation, update systems and databases, and other duties related to the credit portfolio.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Review submissions to credit for completeness, enforcing submission quality
  • Utilize spreadsheets to input and analyze financial statements.
  • Research clients to complete credit underwriting
  • Maintain the mark-to-market reporting and follow up for margin funds.
  • Submit credit underwriting for completion / adjudication
  • Prepare hedging documentation on approved exposure
  • Update hedging platform
  • Monitor exception queues and escalate for adjudication
  • Orderly maintain files for completeness and accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable experience working in a credit risk analytics role in either a bank,
  • brokerage, or equivalent underwriting commercial credit limits
  • Clear understanding of financial statements
  • Reporting on the credit portfolio including the running, monitoring along with
  • follow up.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with Word and Excel, adaptability to learning new software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be and remain organized.

  • MS Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Credit rating and financial spreading tools
  • Databases (In House)
  • Salesforce
