Credit Marketing & Communications – Senior Marketing Copywriter – Toronto
The Credit Marketing & Communications group is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its Content team as a Senior Marketing Copywriter in Toronto.

We are looking for an experienced marketing writer to lead global messaging strategy and content development for our Credit offerings. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to craft clear, compelling, and audience-centric messaging that strengthens brand positioning, differentiates our solutions, and drives business growth. This is an exciting opportunity to own the narrative for one of Morningstar's largest and fastest-growing business units and play a key role in shaping how we bring our value proposition to market.

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong knowledge of B2B marketing copywriting best practices and extensive experience writing for web, digital, and print marketing channels. You can translate complex offerings into simple yet compelling narratives and employ brand, audience, persona, and SEO principles to reach business goals. You will also have exceptional project management and communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, and a track record of effective cross-functional and global collaboration.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Gain a deep understanding of the brand, product offerings, and target audience segments.
  • Develop innovative campaign messaging concepts that distil complex ideas and information into clear, engaging messaging that resonates with target audiences.
  • Write compelling copy for social, search, display, email, print, website, and other marketing assets that drive desired action from target audiences.
  • Edit messaging and content developed by cross-functional teams to ensure that they meet brand and marketing performance best practice standards and guidelines.
  • Produce engaging content that extracts key insights from analytical research reports, presentations, and panel discussions to expand the reach of our thought leadership.
  • Develop and maintain marketing content standards, including style guides and editorial guidelines aligned with the brand requirements.
  • Create and evolve templates, frameworks, systems, and processes to ensure consistency, efficiency, and scalability across marketing assets.
  • Continuously measure and optimize marketing copy and content, and advance marketing’s impact on the overall Credit business.

 Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in writing, journalism, or related field.
  • 5+ years of marketing copywriting experience including experience developing creative frameworks, templates, and systems.
  • Compelling portfolio (please provide a link) showcasing your understanding of marketing copywriting principles, eye for detail, and strong storytelling and problem-solving abilities.
  • Foundational knowledge of and interest in financial markets, especially credit markets.
  • Strong understanding of B2B marketing and experience employing brand, audience, persona, SEO, and user experience principles to reach business goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to distill complex concepts into simple yet engaging messaging and copy.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize high-quality work on a deadline.
  • Openness to feedback and ability to integrate feedback without sacrificing copywriting best practices and guidelines.
  • High attention to detail and proven execution of marketing activities . 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate creative decisions and engage and influence non-creative stakeholders effectively.

Base Salary Compensation Range$60,023.00-88,054.33

Incentive Target Percentage

7.5% Annual
