Overview:

We are seeking a Creative Operations Manager who can be both strategic and hands-on to lead our artwork production team. They will be responsible for managing the intake, preparation, and quality control of customer-submitted artwork for print, while also overseeing a team of designers or prepress specialists. This diverse role combines elements of deep creative knowledge and technical expertise with leadership, process improvement, and automation.

You’ll be responsible for building and leading a high-performing team, ensuring smooth scheduling, hiring, training, and performance management, while driving operational excellence across the creative production pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

Creative & Production Oversight

  • Own the end-to-end process of preparing customer-submitted files for print, ensuring all artwork is technically sound and production-ready
  • Perform and oversee quality control checks: resolution, file format, bleed, trim, color mode, fonts, and artwork structure
  • Lead efforts to fix and optimize artwork for production — adjusting colors, outlining fonts, correcting transparency issues, resizing, and file cleanup
  • Maintain and enforce technical standards, file templates, and production checklists
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Creative, Product, Customer Service, and Production teams to ensure timely, high-quality output

People Management (

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of designers, prepress artists, or art technicians
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and skill development for new team members who will work both onsite and remotely (offshore)
  • Manage scheduling and resource allocation based on incoming workload and deadlines
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement and accountability
  • Foster a culture of accuracy, responsiveness, and operational efficiency within the team

Workflow Optimization & Automation

  • Streamline creative processes using AI tools, automation platforms, and scripting
  • Implement and manage tools that reduce manual tasks and accelerate turnaround time
  • Track and analyze KPIs such as approval times, revision frequency, file rejection rates, and workload distribution

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in prepress, production art, or creative operations
  • 2+ years managing people and production workflows for teams larger than 10 people, (managing offshore teams would be an asset)
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and strong knowledge of print production standards
  • Proven experience preparing and correcting customer-submitted artwork for professional print output
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in team hiring, scheduling, performance management, and training
  • Process-oriented with experience creating SOPs, documentation, and training materials
  • Experience with automation platforms (ex: Make, custom scripts)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills
  • Bonus: Familiarity with proj.mgmt. tools (Asana, Trello, ClickUp) or DAM systems

Why work at StickerYou?

  • A high-growth hybrid print/technology company
  • A fast-changing environment with ample learning and growth opportunities
  • Experience with cutting edge e-commerce and customization technology
  • Company-wide positive energy and fun work atmosphere
  • Open communication with the leadership team
  • Support growth and help expand a Canadian brand
  • Strong corporate vision to make small companies “Better”
