At Linear, we are on a mission to bring magic back to software. To empower product teams to do their best work, we are building an issue tracking and project management tool that combines UI elegance with world-class performance. Founded in 2019, Linear has become the tool of choice for 10,000+ companies to plan and build their products.

Linear was set up as a fully remote company from the start. Today, our small but mighty team is distributed across North America and Europe. What unites us is relentless focus, fast execution, and our passion for software craftsmanship. We are all makers at heart and care deeply about the quality of our work.

To tell the Linear story of who we are and what we are building, we created a small in-house creative studio: The Magic Team. As the Creative Director of this team, you’ll oversee the work of a talented group of designers, engineers, and storytellers and steer the visual direction of all branding initiatives at Linear – ranging from digital landing pages to physical billboards.

We are looking for an individual who is dedicated to craft and quality, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and able to think creatively and from first-principle (we don’t follow playbooks, we create them).

Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead creative initiatives from 0 - 1

  • Substantial experience in web design with excellent visual, UI, motion, and interactive design skills

  • Ability to think creatively about Linear’s web and brand presence

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

What you'll do

  • Communicate Linear's story—what we're building and why it matters

  • Direct the team's creative output across various channels

  • Champion for the highest bar on quality design across branding initiatives

  • Partner with leadership and GTM stakeholders on marketing and branding campaigns

What we offer

  • Interesting and challenging work

  • Work life balance

  • Competitive salary and equity

  • Employee-friendly equity terms (extended exercise)

  • Paid lunch and coffee during work days

  • Work remotely, no commuting to the office

  • Paid co-working space/desk at an office

  • Regular team events and offsites

  • 5 weeks paid vacation

  • 4 months paid parental leave
