Job DescriptionWho are you?
You are an experienced Cost Consultant with 4-7 years of post-graduate experience in cost planning, estimating, and cost management. You are looking to further develop your career within a collaborative and growing team, contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple sectors.
Job Description:
- Develop and manage cost estimates for public sector projects from concept design through procurement, construction, and project closeout.
- Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, and benchmarking analyses to support project decision-making and budget validation.
- Analyze tender submissions and procurement outcomes to ensure competitiveness, compliance, and value for money.
- Participate in value engineering and cost optimization exercises, identifying cost-effective solutions while maintaining project.
- Support project teams in managing cost risks, change management, forecasting, and budget control to ensure client objectives are achieved.
- Contribute to client presentations, cost reports, and stakeholder meetings.
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- 4-7 years of experience in cost estimating, cost planning, or quantity surveying.
- Experience preparing estimates across all project phases, from conceptual design through construction.
- Membership or progress toward membership with relevant professional organizations such as CIQS, RICS, AACE, or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with cost estimating software such as CostX or similar estimating platforms.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

The base salary for the full-time Cost Consultant role is CAD $75,000 - $100,000. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
