Join JPMorgan Chase's Business Controls Management team, where we develop and implement the first line of defense governance and controls for the Commercial & Investment Bank. Our team is focused on governance, ownership, enhancement, and execution of controls across Business, Operations, and Technology.
Are you a strategic thinker ready to ensure a robust controls environment for our front office team? Join our evolving team focused on governance and controls, covering the North American Rates, Fixed Income Financing, and Credit Portfolio Group Derivatives businesses. This role offers the opportunity to drive impactful solutions and collaborate with senior leaders across the organization.
As a Business Control Manager within the Commercial & Investment Bank Markets Trading Controls Team, you will cover the North American Rates, Fixed Income Financing, and Credit Portfolio Group Derivatives businesses. You will be responsible for control design, implementation, evaluation, and representation to internal and external parties, including global regulators. Building strong relationships with stakeholders and maintaining a robust control environment are integral parts of your role.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Represent Front Office interests in control and regulatory initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on controls audits, testing, and business regulatory exams.
  • Execute and implement business controls priorities and strategy.
  • Manage the risk and control governance framework and reporting.
  • Drive business control forums, ensuring critical business operating risks are covered.
  • Execute ad hoc requests, control deep dives, and projects.
  • Review action plans from CORE, ensuring material risks are mitigated.
  • Identify, escalate, and record operational errors, performing risk analysis.
  • Review incidents with stakeholders to agree on root causes and remedial actions.
  • Coordinate thematic reviews to improve the control environment.
  • Ensure correct implementation of Policies and Procedures on Front Office Supervision.


Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • 3+ years of financial services experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, governance, or compliance.
  • Highly motivated, energetic self-starter who takes ownership.
  • Knowledge of risks, controls, and relevant regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize against complex business demands and deliver on multiple priorities.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with colleagues, business leaders, and functional partners.
  • Effective communicator with clear verbal and written updates.
  • Problem-solving skills with critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks within deadlines.
  • Good judgment and poise to interact with senior management.
  • Strong team player with excellent partnering and influencing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).


Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Experience in a Control Manager function or knowledge of Markets, preferably Fixed Income products.
  • Understanding of the end-to-end product life cycle for Fixed Income products.
  • Understanding of North American regulations (e.g., Dodd Frank, Libor reform, Volcker).
  • Familiarity with trading and execution venues.
