Our Toronto headquarters is home to our Corporate Services Team that manages our Global Finance, HR, Travel, IT & back-office support functions. The Corporate Services team operates similar to a shared service model where we support our internal and external stakeholders and colleagues on a range of activities to ensure our business runs as efficiently as possible.
About the Role:
The Contract Manager, reporting directly to the General Counselor, ensures that every contract signed by the company contributes to its goals and objectives. This role works hand in hand with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Business Development, Operations and Finance, to provide end-to-end contract management support.
The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, professional-services environment, has hands-on experience handling international contractual agreements, and is proficient in building strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing, reviewing, and editing contract terms, templates, and legal documents.
- Identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks within contracts while ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Managing the entire process from initial request, approval, and signing to renewals or termination.
- Serving as a primary contact for vendors, suppliers, and clients regarding any contract related matters.
- Ensuring all contracts adhere to company policies and legal requirements.
- Ensuring all contracts comply with the relevant jurisdiction’s standards and requirements.
- Providing litigation support where necessary.
- Reviewing and revising the Company Policy Manual where necessary to ensure compliance with organizational values and mission.
Key Experience, Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Proven track record of providing contract management support, including but not limited to drafting Statements of Work (SOWs), negotiating terms and conditions, and ensuring timely and appropriate adjustments to contract schedules, pricing, or other terms as required.
- Extensive experience of handling complex contractual terms and conditions and managing associated risks.
- Familiarity with Canadian, USA and European standards, industry norms, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in reviewing and monitoring contractual obligations of the parties, ensuring terms and conditions are properly enforced.
- Experience in handling international commercial contracts.
- Experience with litigation support.
- Strong research skills and in-depth knowledge of legal agreements.
- Strong presentation skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working in the Professional Services industry is an asset.
- Bachelor's degree in business, administration or management that includes contract law.
