The Opportunity

Integrated Transformer Management (ITM) is Hitachi Energy’s lean management system, driving continuous improvement to all processes. Hitachi Energy Stoney Creek is searching for a proactive and motivated intern to join our team for a 12-month term, extendable to a maximum of a 16-month term. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and maturity of our facility’s management system, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, inventory management and cost (SQDIC).

How you’ll make an impact

  • This role requires a strong hands-on individual with leadership, communication, and technical skills to perform some or all the following:

  • Assisting with and leading various tiered accountability meetings

  • Leading problem-solving exercises

  • Improving our factory’s visual management and 5S culture

  • Fostering a higher degree of employee engagement

  • Working towards improving inter-factory relations (i.e., operations, engineering, health and safety, quality, project management, sales, etc.)

Your background

  • Third year completed of a bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering field, with plans to return after the work term, or recently completed a four-year degree program

  • Proficient with MS Excel and other MS Office software

  • Ability to multi-task and perform in a high pace environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Understanding of lean management, quality, and continuous improvement

  • Excellent data analysis skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
