The Role:

Rakuten Kobo Inc. is looking for an Intern to join our Audiobooks and Subscription team for 12-months starting February 2026. The team is comprised of many highly talented enthusiastic individuals who ensure the services and offerings from Kobo are available to both internal and external customers. 

 

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Audiobooks and Global Subscriptions, the Intern will support merchandising the audiobook and subscription storefronts, assist in tracking and analyzing of core KPI’s, and the development of internal reports. You will also support communication and content pipelines with both external and internal publishers and distributors. 

 

The Intern will support implementation of seasonal and monthly promotions. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with various teams working to continuously improve our core KPI’s and drive the best possible content curation for our products. All aimed at delivering a best-in-class consumer experience of our subscription services.

  • You are a multi-tasker with great time management skills. 
  • You are eager to learn both hard and soft skills and gain experience in a professional environment. 
  • Proficient communication skills. 
  • You enjoy collecting, analyzing, and presenting data and information.  
  • You love to learn and research new trends and customer behaviors. 

Responsibilities Include:  

  • Assisting with audiobook and subscription merchandising and promotion execution. 
  • Maintain the audiobook and subscription content calendars and store planners. 
  • Perform store audits and regular quality assurance of the audiobook and subscriber customer experience. 
  • Utilize data analytics platforms (ex. Google Analytics, Tableau, etc.) to report on business performance. 
  • Support internal reporting and various team projects. 

   

The Skillset: 

Required: 

  • Must possess good communication skills and be comfortable liaising with multiple teams and internal stakeholders daily. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Analytics for data analysis. 
  • Experience with presenting data/results with clear analysis and conclusions to groups.  
  • Creative, curious, and critical thinker, constantly searching for and tapping into new opportunities to impact and achieve success metrics and KPI targets. 

 

Nice to Haves: 

  • Experience with eCommerce, subscriptions. 
  • Experience with publishing or bookselling. 
  • Affinity for reading and experience with Audiobooks. 
  • Experience using project management programs such as ClickUp, Asana, etc. 
  • Copy writing experience.
