About The Role

We're seeking a talented and driven Content Writer to join our team and create high-quality, relevant, and strategic blog content that resonates with our non-profit audience. 

As a Content Writer, you will be responsible for crafting engaging, well-researched, and insightful blog posts focused on helping non-profits understand the benefits of online fundraising, staying informed about industry trends, and maximizing the potential of our platform. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the voice of our brand and contributing to our content marketing strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and edit original, high-quality blog posts that are informative, relevant, and tailored to the needs of non-profits.

  • Conduct thorough research on non-profit fundraising, online donation platforms, and industry trends to ensure content is well-informed and impactful.

  • Dig deep into Fundraise Up internal data to create meaningful research and benchmarks to inform and educate non-profit organizations.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align content with broader content strategy and campaign goals.

  • Support promotional tactics like events, webinars and product launches with relevant blogs.

  • Optimize content for SEO to drive organic traffic and increase blog visibility.
  • Create a consistent publishing schedule and manage deadlines.

  • Identify opportunities for new content themes, addressing pain points and challenges faced by non-profits.

  • Keep up to date with industry news, best practices, and the competitive landscape to ensure our content remains thought-leading and valuable to non-profit organizations.

  • Report on wins, opportunities and areas to optimize blog content to marketing and leadership teams.

Skills and Qualifications

  1. Strong understanding of the non-profit sector, including trends, challenges, and opportunities in fundraising and online donations.
  2. Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a content writer, preferably with a focus on writing to engage fundraising professionals for enterprise non-profits, and/or B2B SaaS platforms.

  3. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to create clear, compelling, and actionable content.

  4. Familiarity with SEO best practices and tools such as Google Analytics, SEMRush and keyword research.

  5. Ability to conduct in-depth research and distill complex information into accessible content for a non-profit audience.

  6. Understanding of marketing automation, email marketing, or social media strategy for non-profits.

  7. Knowledge of content marketing strategies and how to engage target audiences through blog content.
