At SecondShop, we’re a team of Canadians who believe in doing better—for our country, your wallets, and our planet.

We started with a simple idea: why should perfectly good products go to waste or sit unsold when people like you are out there looking for smart ways to save? We have made it our mission to source the highest quality open-box, overstocked, and scratch-and-dent products from the top brands - offering them to Canadians at up to 50% off. But we are not just about savings—we’re about changing how people shop. Say goodbye to paying full price and hello to smarter spending.

SecondShop is seeking a Consumer Sales Manager to lead and elevate our in-showroom consumer sales experience at our Burlington location. This is a player-coach role where you will actively sell on the floor while developing, motivating, and driving performance from a team of Consumer Sales Representatives.

This position is centred on face-to-face engagement, operational excellence, and measurable results. You will own the showroom sales environment end to end, from daily targets and floor coverage to upsell performance, customer experience standards, and conversion rates.

The ideal candidate is highly execution oriented, thrives in fast-paced retail or appliance and electronics environments, and is motivated by both personal performance and team success.

What You’ll Be Doing

Sales Leadership and Floor Management

  • Lead daily showroom sales operations as well as online consumer engagement - and ensure consistent floor coverage, energy, and customer engagement.
  • Act as a player coach by personally closing high-value or complex sales while managing team members in real time.
  • Set daily and weekly sales targets and hold the team accountable to KPIs such as revenue, conversion rates, average order value, and attachment rates.
  • Run daily huddles and weekly performance check-ins to review pipeline, goals, and improvement areas
  • Set up and management of outbound sales intitiatives, marketplace, affiliates, partnerships, etc

Team Development and Coaching

  • Coach sales representatives on product knowledge, objection handling, upselling techniques, and closing skills.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement targeted training or shadowing.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and ramp-up of new sales team members in partnership with People Operations.

Customer Experience and Execution

  • Ensure a high-quality, consultative, and transparent customer experience aligned with SecondShop values.
  • Step in to resolve escalations, delivery issues, or complex product questions.
  • Maintain showroom standards including product presentation, signage accuracy, and merchandising alignment.

Revenue and Process Ownership

  • Drive upsell performance on warranties, delivery, installation, and accessories.
  • Partner with inventory, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure product availability and realistic delivery timelines.
  • Track and analyse performance data, identifying trends in objections, popular products, and missed opportunities
  • Recommend process improvements across quoting, follow-ups, and in-store workflows.

Who We’re Looking For

  • 3 to 5 years or more of sales experience, ideally in appliances, electronics, furniture, or other high-ticket retail environments.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing small sales teams is strongly preferred.
  • A proven record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets personally and through a team.
  • Strong product comprehension with the ability to translate technical specifications into clear consumer benefits.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with confidence handling objections and negotiations in person.
  • Highly execution focused with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using CRMs, quoting tools, POS systems, and basic reporting dashboards.
  • A natural coach and motivator who leads by example rather than from the sidelines.
  • Customer-centric mindset with the ability to balance revenue goals and long-term satisfaction.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary plus commission and performance-based incentives with compensation between $80 - $130,000 per annum + commission
  • Employee discounts on SecondShop products.
  • Clear pathways for progression into senior sales, category, or broader retail leadership roles.
  • A collaborative and mission-driven team environment where your impact is visible and immediate.
  • The opportunity to help shape and scale SecondShop’s in-person retail experience across Canada.
  • If you are energised by leading from the front, building high-performing teams, and delivering exceptional in-store customer experiences, this is your opportunity to define what best-in-class consumer sales looks like at SecondShop.
