The Consumer Marketing Manager is responsible for accelerating the reach of Lilly medicines to patients faster by developing and executing innovative, breakthrough marketing strategies, with a focus on Lilly’s Cardiometabolic Health business unit. This role requires a deep understanding of consumer behaviour, direct-to-consumer (DTC) marketing strategies, digital and media landscape, and data analytics to inform decision-making. This role reports to the Associate Director, Consumer Marketing and will support efforts to expand Lilly’s consumer marketing capabilities.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end patient experience and develop consumer-centric marketing plans in partnership with brand teams and global colleagues, aligning with strategic objectives and growth targets.
  • Champion a consumer-first mindset to evolve beyond traditional pharma, lead priority consumer initiatives, and drive change across the organization by building new consumer capabilities.
  • Manage agency partners to develop breakthrough media plans, campaign execution, and creative assets, while operating within a highly regulated environment.
  • Initiate and leverage market research and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities and provide consumer perspective to cross-functional teams.
  • Drive digital strategy and execution (website, social, etc), ensuring connectivity across PESO touchpoints (paid, earned, shared, owned)
  • Measure performance with analytical rigour and assess effectiveness of consumer marketing campaigns.
  • Influence and collaborate closely with cross functional partners, including brand, patient support program, digital, communications, medical affairs, regulatory, legal, and global teams.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and regulatory changes to adapt marketing strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of full-time experience in consumer marketing (or brand management/digital marketing), preferably from consumer packaged goods, tech, or financial (B2C non-pharma) industry.
  • Proven experience in consumer marketing within a highly regulated environment, including managing external agencies for media buying and creative development.
  • Demonstrated leadership in leveraging consumer insights to execute PESO campaigns (paid, earned, shared, owned) with excellence.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, lead without authority, and take initiative to drive change (preferably with experience in a large matrixed organization).
  • Strong analytical skills in data-driven marketing decision-making, performance measurement, and campaign optimization.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills, with experience collaborating with cross-functional partners such as communications, digital, legal, global, etc.
     

Additional Information

  • Location: This is a hybrid role – onsite presence at our Toronto office will be 10 days or more per month (or at least 50% of the time), determined in collaboration with your manager and based on business needs.
  • Travel: 0-25%
