What you’ll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Application Operations - DSB/Solace team enabling CIBC's event driven architecture with a focus on Solace Messaging Service. You’ll be responsible for providing investigation and second level support on client issues, technical issues, system/web site outages and questions from all internal and external application by maintaining, prioritization and addressing to respective CIBC technology groups and vendors. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the production applications and day-to-day operational activities, manage escalations and modify established procedures / approaches to suit specific situations including 24 x 7 support and coordination of recovery efforts.

How you’ll succeed     

  • Production support - Investigate Solace/DSB technical issues and prioritize based on severity, risk and/or strategic business needs. Design and implement solutions to prevent recurrence with the end goal of ensuring clients satisfaction.
  • Partnership - Work as a regular liaison with business partners, technology partners, senior management team, internal and external clients and vendors. Ensure internal clients are well-informed of service updates and environment changes. 
  • Projects delivery - Act as subject matter expert for new clients onboarding as well as projects requiring enhancements to existing config. Regular communication with project managers and developers assessing requirements and planning production releases. 

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 2 plus years of experience supporting applications utilising event driven messaging systems such as Solace/Kafka/RabbitMQ/IBM MQ. This role will focus on Solace but any related messaging system experience would contribute to your success. 2 plus years experience deploying and supporting containerized applications running in OpenShift\Kubernetes. 2 plus years experience supporting/deploying/configuring applications in Azure. Comfortable using Linux CLI for network/connectivity troubleshooting, certificate management utilizing OpenSSL or Keytool, and HA Proxy support. You have experience utilizing tools like Grafana to enhance observability and create alerts for system events. You have basic scripting skills and can enhance with AI to solve problems and work efficiently.
