What you’ll be doing
The Consultant, Forecasting and Analytics is an expert in understanding the performance and quality of the different retail portfolios from a risk perspective. You’ll deliver analytic and reporting to understand the key drivers and performance of the different retail portfolio. You’ll also deliver impactful analytics to understand and quantify portfolio performance, support business initiatives and strategies, and provide value-add analysis for enhanced business decisions. In addition, you will be responsible to develop and deliver delinquency and quarterly net credit loss forecasting of different retail products, as well as supporting/developing analytics under a variety of economic scenarios and quantify the impact of mitigating actions.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Analytical mindset – Collect and analyze data/metrics to understand the different portfolios’ trends and performance and apply those findings/ knowledge. Challenge the status quo through critical thinking and thoughtful analysis. Diagnose business operation environments and prudently test hypotheses to identify actionable insights.

Domain knowledge - Well-versed of best practices and new discoveries in analytical fields, appropriately applying them to achieve team objectives. Knowledgeable of economic trends and implications to develop consumer credit behavior insights.

Relationship management – Foster working relationships with business partners to create a collaborative atmosphere. Cultivate new relationships aimed at creating solutions to common objectives.

Portfolio communication
- Ability to create analyses and package into presentations and communicate to the end users (executives). Have the ability to adjust the messages and presentation depending on the end users.
Who you are
-
You can demonstrate experience with Retail Credit risk with strong knowledge of retail risk management concepts, the credit life-cycle, and portfolio performance drivers.

You can demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience with SAS EG, with a sound understanding of analytical methodologies and techniques that deliver the most relevant and innovative insights. It’s an asset if you have experience with automation of report generation through SAS EG, as well as have experience with Python and Tableau for data visualization.

You give meaning to data. You have the ability to interpret data and translate it into insights with business meaning. You also have strong written communication skills to develop reports and presentation decks tailored to diverse audiences ranging from non-risk specialists to senior executive levels.

You have a Master’s Degree in statistics, mathematics, finance, economics, or a Bachelor’s Degree with relevant experience.
