What you'll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Capital Markets Technology, Client Data Services Team. As a Consultant, Business Systems Analysis, you will be responsible for executing business analysis activities to advance assigned business initiatives and ensure project success. You will act as a liaison between business and technology stakeholders by serving as single point of contact with respect to requirement expertise, requirement management process and will actively participate in all phases of a project life cycle. This role requires interaction with multiple Client Data Management groups as well as other Technology teams. You will be responsible for writing and refining user stories, defining and executing test cases, analyzing issues while providing solutions, collaborating on automated test cases, designing, and implementing automated functional testing, and executing manual testing in SIT when applicable to ensure a successful deployment.

How you'll succeed

  • Understanding and documenting requirements - Work closely with business partners to gather complicated business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Create strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements.
  • Solution design - Build client-focused solutions that meet business requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance.
  • Communication and Relationships - Build strong relationships and partnerships with technical team members, business team and peers. Demonstrate very strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience with 4 or more years of experience in a business systems analyst role handling user stories, documentation, requirements gathering. MUST have previous Financial Institution experience. You have experience working within an Agile environment as a member of a technology team responsible for supporting applications involving client and regulatory data. You have strong SQL and MS Excel skills to convey data and tell a story.  Strong asset to have Capital Markets, GitHub Co-Pilot, Python and/or Microsoft Azure DevOps experience. Understanding of Capital Markets products and client onboarding processes (such as AML/KYC, Risk Assessment etc.) is an ideal. Lead in testing of system changes and coordinate User Acceptance Testing by creating and executing Test Plans; will be able to assess research, analyze and document sponsor/stakeholder needs in accordance with project deliverables.
