What You'll Bring
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline. (Or equivalent experience.)
2+ years of experience in acoustics and vibration, including at least 1 year in consulting or professional services.
Strong foundation in noise/vibration principles and measurement techniques.
Proficiency with noise modeling software (e.g., CadnaA, STAMSON, TNM).
Understanding of regulatory requirements and provincial noise guidelines.
Strong Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
Excellent technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Preferred:
Advanced degree specializing in acoustics or vibration.
Eligibility for Professional Engineer registration in Ontario, BC, or Alberta.
Programming skills (Python, Java) and Excel Macros/VBA experience.
Familiarity with sound/vibration instruments and industrial noise control specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct environmental noise assessments, pre/post-construction surveys,a and predictive modeling using advanced tools.
Perform field measurements and compliance evaluations across varied environments.
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and regulatory submissions for permitting processes.
Develop noise control measures and collaborate with ERM’s global acoustics community.
Engage with agencies, attend site visits, and participate in public meetings as needed.
Ensure all deliverables meet ERM’s quality, budget, and schedule standards.
For the Consultant, Acoustics and Vibrations position, the anticipated annual base pay is $79,709 – $92,000 (CAD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
