Computer Vision engineer, Sensor Fusion

The Spectacles team is pushing the boundaries of technology to bring people closer together in the real world. Our fifth-generation Spectacles, powered by Snap OS, showcase how standalone, see-through AR glasses make playing, learning, and working better together.

As a Computer Vision Engineer on this team, you’ll work on solving some of our industry’s toughest challenges and develop the next generation of wearable devices.  We work on wearables and look to push the boundaries of what is possible.  Working from our Vienna office, you will be collaborating closely with other Snap hardware and software teams around the world.

What You Will Do:

• Contribute to state-of-the-art tracking & SLAM algorithms

• Develop novel features for the next generation of AR products

• Design, implement, and integrate existing and new Computer Vision and Augmented Reality algorithms

• Research new techniques to leverage available sensors on current and future Spectacles hardware

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Solid foundation in Computer Vision such as camera models, multi-view geometry and transformations

• Solid math background with understanding of estimation theory, statistics and linear algebra

• Ability to transform ideas into clean, fast and reliable code

• Outstanding problem solving skills, attention to detail, and affinity with field testing

• Great communication skills;  ability to work with cross-functional teams

Minimum Qualifications:

• BSc/MSc with 2+ years of relevant experience from industry in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. computer science, mechatronics, mathematics, robotics, ...)

• Experience with SLAM or visual tracking systems

• 2+ years of programming experience in C++

• Masters, or industrial experience in a relevant engineering discipline

• Experience with non-linear optimization, Kalman filtering, state-estimation

• Experience with one or more of the following sensor types: IMU, magnetometer, GNSS, pressure sensors.
