What you’ll do?

  • The successful candidate will provide engineering support for product development activities in terms of component selection, sourcing of critical parts. Wide range of experience is required to be successful in this role from electrical, electronic and electromechanical part for wide range of industries such as industrial, medical, military and space. 
  • Evaluate board-mount and other components for product suitability for high reliability applications. 
  • Perform second-sourcing, cost reduction, and other sustaining engineering activities 
  • Interact closely with supply chain and contract manufacturers to ensure product compliance and quality. 
  • Test components and sub-assemblies as needed to validate performance 
  • Respond to internal technical inquiries on released products 
  • Review and manage supply chain issues between vendors and contract manufacturers. 
  • Participate in internal EE related processes reviews & provide guidance/training to internal employees and customers about EEE requirements 
  • Providing support to design engineers regarding component selection (based on heritage, quality and reliability requirements of programs/customers) 

What you MUST have to get the job done

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or Physics or related field. 
  • Postgraduate degree is an asset. 
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

  • Familiarity with space industry processes and challenges in terms of qualification and testing. 
  • Familiarity with EEE component quality controls and reliability standards. 
  • Familiarity with SEM, EDX and other EE inspection techniques.
