Role Value Proposition:
Compliance Risk Management (CRM) delivers a compliance risk framework that enables the businesses and functions to comply with applicable internal and external rules and regulations and maintain risk levels within MetLife's risk appetite. CRM provides constructive challenge to the businesses and functions, partnering closely with them to implement strong processes and effective controls, as well as to foster and embed a culture of compliance. CRM is part of Global Risk Management (GRM).
Within CRM, the Testing, Monitoring, and Risk Assessment Team delivers enterprise-wide frameworks for risk-based testing and monitoring activities, as well as the non-financial risk assessment in partnership with Operational Risk. This individual contributor will help the development of Compliance testing and monitoring activities across the enterprise, ensuring the consistency and quality of the activities and issue management program. In addition, the role will also support the development of performance metrics, presentations, and other reporting aligned to suit respective audiences. The Compliance Consultant will support the alignment of the risk assessment process and testing and monitoring activities with the non-financial risk framework. The role requires a proactive and analytic thinker who has a collaborative mindset.

- Reports to : AVP, Head of Testing, Monitoring, and Risk Assessment
- Key Stakeholders : Regional Heads of Compliance and Governance Leads, Operational Risk Management, Compliance Governance, Privacy, Anti-Financial Crime
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports testing and monitoring activities and issues management oversight.
- Analyzes trends in testing and monitoring results and identifies opportunities to strengthen the design of monitoring and testing activities and/or controls in place to mitigate compliance risks.
- Provides credible challenge to the global Compliance testing and monitoring plan and risk assessment to enable risk-based coverage.
- Identifies and escalates potential risks and other issues that impact the effectiveness of MetLife's Global Compliance Risk Management Program.
- Understands compliance program risks and business controls.
- Participates in cross-functional initiatives.
- Validates that issues and action plans are developed where appropriate for missing or ineffective controls. Works with Compliance partners to identify trends and conduct root cause analysis.
- Supports the alignment of activities to compliance policies, risk assessment results, and the non-financial risk framework.
- Helps with the implementation of a quality assurance process for Compliance testing and monitoring.
- Develops reporting including analytics and dashboards to assist in the analysis of Compliance Programs
- Build data analytics models to identify potential risk and testing gaps and opportunities for efficiencies and simplifications
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
- 5+ years or relevant experience in compliance or audit, preferably with a medium to large financial services firm, with a strong focus on risk assessment, testing and monitoring.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously with competing deadlines
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be highly motivated, adaptable to change, and detail oriented
- Knowledge of Company operations, systems and transactions and financial products and services
- Solid knowledge of auditing processes, including linkage between risks and controls
- Strong analytical, problem solving, technical and functional expertise
- Ability to build relationships with all levels of management and to adapt communication styles appropriately for the program or audience
- Detail oriented and the ability to identify and resolve issues
- Demonstrated critical thinking and data-driven mindset
- Advance Excel skillset ( Power Query and Macros are a plus)
- Knowledge of Alteryx, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Power BI
The salary range for applicants for this position is $76,500 - $102,000.
