Communications & Marketing Specialist- 18 Month Contract
Gore Mutual’s team is growing! We are seeking a digitally-savvy Communications Specialist who will play a key role in supporting our business goals, enhancing the company's reputation, and enriching the employee experience. This position partners with various business portfolios to design and execute impactful communications strategies that drive broker and employee engagement across digital and traditional channels. As a trusted advisor and strategic planner, the successful candidate will collaborate across departments to deliver measurable, data-informed initiatives that align with Gore Mutual’s objectives. 

What will you do? 
• Develop and manage multi-format content for emails, articles, speeches, presentations, and social media posts, ensuring accuracy and relevance for target audiences. 
• Meet with leaders to analyze data and research best practices to create strategic communication plans. 
• Collaborate with internal teams to gain consensus and secure approvals for communications initiatives. 
• Set SMART objectives to evaluate the success of communications and marketing initiatives. 
• Implement tracking mechanisms, use digital analytical tools (e.g. SharePoint, Meltwater and Poppulo, or other platform tools), collect metrics, and prepare reports on outcomes. 
• Act as a project manager by overseeing communication plans, tracking deliverables, and maintaining stakeholder engagement throughout the process. 
• Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing ad hoc communications and marketing support. 

  • What will you need to succeed? 
    A Bachelor’s degree in  communications, public relations, marketing, or journalism or related field. 
    3-5 years of experience in strategic communications, B2B marketing, and internal/external communications, preferably within the P&C insurance or financial services industry. 
    Expertise in B2B communications and marketing, with experience tailoring content for a wide range of audiences, channels and platforms. 
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver multichannel campaigns, including social media management, email marketing and content strategy. 
     
  • Strong writing and editing skills across formats — speeches, social media, executive messaging, and internal updates — with a focus on clarity, brand alignment, and engagement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (including SharePoint Online, Teams, Copilot) and comfort with digital collaboration tools. 
  • Familiarity with tools like Asana, Meltwater, Poppulo, Canva and content management systems. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines, adapt in a fast-paced environment, and work independently and collaboratively. 
  • Ability to interpret marketing and communications data to inform strategy and optimize communications. 
  • A creative mindset with a passion for storytelling, innovation, and continuous learning. 
  • An analytical mind to understand data and turn insights into action 
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and team-player 

Nice to Have: 

  •  Experience supporting change management communications and employee engagement strategies
